ENTRANCE
The entrance is open 24 hours, ring the door bell after 11:00 PM. If you wish to enter the building between these times, please ring the doorbell to alert the night porter and show your room key.

SMOKING
The Green Elephant is a 100% non-smoking hostel. Smoking in your room or in public areas will result in a €150 charge for cleaning costs.

PETS
Pets are allowed in the private rooms (upon request).

CREDITCARDS
We accept American Express, MasterCard, Visa and Maestro credit -and debitcards.

SOMETHING BROKEN?
In case something in your room breaks down, please bring this to our attention so that our hotel engineer will attend to the problem.

FORGOT SOMETHING?
If you forgot to bring something like a toothbrush, toothpaste, an adaptor or feminine products, we will be happy to give you a replacement with our compliments. Simply let us know.

LUGGAGE ROOM
If you would like to store your luggage with us for the rest of the day, before you take a train or other type of transportation to your next destination, leave your belongings in our secure luggage room.

CLEAN CLUB FOR YOUR LAUNDRY
You don’t have to leave the hotel or go to an expensive laundrette to clean your laundry: head over to the Clean Club instead and use our washing machine and dryer.

VENDING MACHINE
In the Study Area on the 1st floor, you'll find a vending machine for anything you might need: a tootbrush, Nespresso coffee cups, earplugs, something sweet or whatever.

STUDY AREA
Walk through the hallway at the end of the restaurant, go through the door towards the rooms and then take the stairs to the 1st floor. You'll find the study area above the wellness.

RENT A SUP BOARD
Stand up paddle boarding (SUP) is a fun activity you can do on rivers and lakes. It’s a great full body core workout and a way to experience the beauty of the outdoors. We have 2 sup boards for rent, you can pick them up at the reception desk. You’ll receive the sup deflated in a bag, incl. paddle and pump. Ask our staff for great sup locations.

At The Green Elephant, we a healthy breakfast is a must if you want to start your day full of energy.
Start your day with a green breakfast in restaurant Serendipity with an extensive buffet full of fresh fruit and vegetable juices, fruit, breakfast cereals including overnight oats, freshly baked bread, and vegetarian and vegan fillings, spreads, and toppings. Gluten-free and lactose-free products are a standard part of the breakfast.
Breakfast is served between 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM

PARKING
You can park your car at Q-Park P+R Station Maastricht for only €16 for 24 hours. The car park is less than a two-minute walk from The Green Elephant.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

• If you park for longer than 24 hours (or multiples of 24 hours), you will need to pay an additional charge. This is charged at the normal rate.

• When you return to your car to leave, you must pay for parking at the ticket machine at Q-Park to receive an exit ticket.

• To register your entrance and exit times, put your debit or credit card into the machine when you enter the car park. At this point, you won’t receive a ticket to leave the car park!

• Park at Q-Park P+R Station Maastricht, Parallelweg 15, 6221 BD Maastricht (height: 1.90 m).

TRANSPORT
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
The hotel is located close to Maastricht Central Station, the main public transport hub. The urban traveller can use the bus or train to get to The Green Elephant.

CAR RENTAL
Detailed information about car rental is available at the reception.

TAXI
If you need a taxi, you can order one yourself at reception, on the IPad. We recommend booking a taxi in advance to avoid any waiting time.

We love kids! There's plenty do for kids in the hostel and in Maastricht. Check out our personal favourite places for kids to go to in the city. In the hostel, you'll find board games and music instruments in the cabinet in Restaurant Serendipity. And if you take the stairs down towards the DIY Meal Prepper, you'll find a cosy kids corner there too. At reception, we also  have a city map for kids with all the best playgrounds and things to do.

Whether you stay in a bunk bed, Tiny Dream House. or a private room with or without private bathroom, the Morgenfrisk bath houses are at everyone's disposal 24/7. You will find them throughout the building and on every floor. All bath houses have severail rain showers with Marcel's Green Soap body wash, sinks with mirrors and hair dryers.

BICYCLE RENTAL
Renting a bike in Maastricht is super easy! At The Green Elephant you can rent a bicycle via MyHotelBikes:

•   Price: €16/day for a regular bicycle (includes breakdown service and insurance).

The Urban Forest allows you to retreat into the green surroundings or add a burst of extra vitamin D to your breakfast with a serving of sunshine. Here you can relax on one of the large stones or under the magnolia tree. You’d have no idea you were in the middle of the city.

Vivacious Eco City Spa, part of The Green Elephant Hostels, has everything you need for one or more sauna sessions: three saunas, a hammam, a changing room, foot baths, regular showers and bucket showers, a cooling ice wall and an infrared panel that’ll give a boost to your immune system.

Book your wellness access timeslot at reception. When using the wellness area, swimwear, a bathrobe, flip-flops and a towel are required. All are available for rent at reception of The Green Elephant.

For the #fitgirls and #fitboys, there is fitness equipment placed throughout The Green Elephant Hostels for a quick workout, the micro gyms! For a complete workout, follow the entire route from start to finish.

Microgym 1 – Air Bike & Spin Bikes

Start at the reception desk of The Green Elephant Hostels. Walk down the stairs into the restaurant. Walk along the glass wall to the right,
alongside the garden, at the end of the corridor you will find Microgym 1.

Microgym 2 – Abdominal bench

From Microgym 1, take the first door on the left and use your keycard to walk through the hallway. At the end of the hall, go to the right and you will see a staircase and the abdominal bench. #workthoseabs

Microgym 3 – Ski Machine

From Microgym 2, take the stairs to the first floor. There is a ski machine at the end of the corridor to the right. Use at your own risk 😉

Microgym 4 – Ab board, weights & treadmill

Take the staircase to get to the 2nd floor. An ab board and 2 sets of weights are located on the side of the stairwell. There is a treadmill to the left of the stairwell.

When your workout is finished, take the staircase to the ground floor and go to the right to take the first door to the left through the hallway back to Microgym 1.

At the outher end of Restaurant Serendipity, you'll find a cabinet filled with books, games and musical instruments. Everything you need for some quality time with your friends, family, or fellow travelers.

Our Chill Circle is the place for you to unwind with a book or just relax in front of the huge tv with the people you're traveling with. The TV has a Chromecast that enables you to connect your phone with Netflix or YouTube. You'll find the Chill Circle in the basement, near the DIY Meal Prepper.

Of course wi-fi is free in The Green Elephant Hostels.

FLOORPLAN
Each guest room contains a floor plan indicating the room location for safe evacuation in the unlikely event of a fire or an emergency. Please take a moment to read the safety and emergency instructions which can be found on the back of your room door. If you have any questions regarding emergency procedures, we will be happy to answer them. The staff of the hotel has been trained to assist guests in emergency situations.

POWER FAILURE
In the event of power failure, emergency lighting will come on throughout the building. Candles are not permitted in the bedrooms in the interest of safety.
